FAQ + POLICIES

These are our general shop policies which apply to everyone that chooses to receive services at our salon. Please read them carefully. In addition to our shop policies, we also have Covid-19 specific shop protocols which can and should be accessed by clicking on the button below. Thank you

ZEN NAIL SALON AND SPA INC.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY

 All services are completely optional and have been requested by the individual, agent of an individual or party host on behalf of his/her guests. Zen Nail Salon and Spa INC, makes every effort to ensure that clients are not subjected to any bacterial/fungal infections by disinfecting all non-disposable tools in hospital-grade disinfectant and then autoclaving tools. The Client releases us of any and all liability as a direct or indirect result of services rendered.

RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE

Zen Nail Salon and spa inc reserves the right to refuse services.  We do not tolerate discrimination, indecent exposure, sexual harassment, violence and/or verbal abuse. Zen Nail Spa reserves the right to refuse service and/or the use of the facilities to any person to any person whose conduct is harassing, offensive, lewd, inappropriate, loud, boisterous, or is an unreasonable disturbance to other clients, guests, vendors, employees, agents, and/or independent contractors. If any of this takes place, we have the right to refuse or stop service at any point, a refund will not be issued and criminal charges may be filed if and when applicable. If a service provider feels that a client is behaving inappropriately, they are authorized to stop the treatment immediately and they will be asked to leave.

HEALTH

Nail technicians are not permitted to diagnose or treat skin or nails that are abnormal in any way. We do not work on ingrown nails.  If you have any questions about a spa treatment and your health, please consult a doctor. 

 

SATISFACTION

  *We do not issue refunds on services*

Should you have any questions or concerns about the service you have received in the salon, please notify a salon coordinator within three days of your service. If you are not satisfied with the work performed, we require that you return to the salon so that your nails can be visually inspected. At that time, we will make every effort to correct any problems to your satisfaction. Adjustments will only be made available to you if you can come in within 3 days to have them visually inspected + have already notified us in advance. Anything outside of that time frame would be considered " wear and tear" which is not a reflection of your nail professional. Regular nail polish cannot be quantified in a number of days because there are so many factors that can play a role in how long it lasts. Ex. oily nail beds, athletes, certain household cleaners, if your hands are frequently in water. On the same note, a manicure involves so much more than just polish. We strongly recommend using gloves to prolong the life of your nail polish.

Gel polish/ shellac lasts up to 14 days. How long nails hold up depends quite a bit on the environment that they are exposed/ subjected to. Our policy is 3 days because of this. Anything outside of this timeline will be repaired for a fee/ per nail or redone entirely for the normal cost of services. Please keep in mind that strong solvents, cleaning chemicals, alcohol, chlorine, prolonged or frequent hand washing/ hot water and active lifestyles can all contribute to how long your nail polish will last. We recommend wearing gloves to prolong the life of your polish. 

We are happy to make recommendations as to what services may be better suited to your lifestyle. Just like your shampoo or toothpaste, sometimes it takes trial and error to find what works best with your nail chemistry +lifestyle. NAILS DONE AT OTHER SALONS 

If you have had your nails done at a different salon and are unhappy with the work performed at that particular salon, please let them know and give them the chance to fix their work. We do not repair, fill, fix, patch  nails that were done elsewhere. Instead, if you would like to give us a shot, please come to our salon with a clean slate. (gel polish or regular polish is fine) but acrylics and dip should be taken off before hand. Also, we do not "touch up", "fill" "paint over" dip powder. Dip powder is meant to be worn for two weeks - three weeks max and when it grows out, you need to remove them completely and either redo them or you can choose to select another service but the dip needs to be removed completely first. We have had unfortunate instances where people have gone to other salons and were not told what they were actually receiving only to come to our salon and demand that the dip be painted over or touched up. Its not how dip powder works. Sometimes the products used at another salon may be fine. Sometimes the products are not so great and we are not into " temporary fixes" and cannot guarantee the outcome, which is why we want to do it the right way. Show up with a clean slate so we can show you how its really done :)

SERVICES

 All our services are based on a set time. If you request additional work, you will be asked to upgrade to a pedicure or manicure that would be better suited to the needs that they require, schedule permitting. For example, should you require more attention to your calluses and cuticles it would be beneficial for you to receive a sports pedicure rather than a signature pedicure. A sports pedicure would focus on your specific problem areas and give us ample time to provide you with the best service possible without interfering with the rest of our schedule. . Please trust that we are doing everything in our ability to provide you with the best service possible within reason. *Lastly, please understand that most clients require multiple visits over time to safely achieve the desired results they are looking for* 

APPOINTMENTS

 Please make an appointment by contacting the salon directly during normal business hours. We recommend contacting us in advance for holiday appointments.

Give us a call if you are running late. If you are more than 7 minutes late for your scheduled appointment, we may need to reschedule your appointment or treat you as a walk-in client.* If you booked both a mani+ pedi but decide that you only want half the service please let us know before your appointment.  If you booked for a party of 5 but only 3 will be able to make it, please call us before your appointment time. 

Due to the nature of our business and the fact that we work using our hands+ implements, sometimes unpredictable circumstances may arise. If we are running late we will do our very best to let you know ahead of time by calling you. We thank you for your patience and understanding. 

 

ARRIVAL 

Please come 5-10 minutes before your appointment time to pick out your color.  Having your color ready ensures we have the full reserved time to work on your services. This will also provide you with enough time to find a good parking spot as well as allowing us to answer any and all questions or concerns you may have about your treatment(s).

VALUABLES

We regret to inform you that we cannot be responsible for loss or damage to personal articles including clothing and accessories.

Please leave your jewelry at home - one less thing to think about! 

 

GIFT CERTIFICATES

Gift certificates are readily available and can be purchased at any time during normal business hours. At this time we do not sell gift certificates online, through the phone, or through third party companies.  The only gift certificates we accept are the ones purchased in our store. Gift certificates are not refundable, replaceable, or exchangeable at any time. Gift Certificates are to be treated as cash, and are therefore not redeemable if lost or stolen.

PRINCESS/PRINCE SERVICES

We offer princess/ prince nail services for children. Children must be seated and supervised by their parent/ caretaker at all times. For their safety, children are not permitted to handle bottles of nail polish. We do not recommend bringing children under the age of three into the salon.

HOT SURFACES/ WET SURFACES

 Throughout Zen Nail Salon and Spa inc. , there are a number of areas that potentially contain hot surfaces/ Wet surfaces including, without limitation, the walls, floors, doors, bricks, seats, benches, pedicure chairs, hot towels, rocks, LED/ UV lights. Client acknowledges that he/she is aware of the danger and risks of contact with these surfaces.

SEATING

Our chairs are on wheels, please take caution when getting up and sitting down.
